McDonald’s is taking fans back in time.

Ahead of the release of Marvel Studios’ Loki Season 2, the Disney+ series teamed up with McDonald’s for a “memorable appearance on the timeline — for a chance to travel back to 1982.”

The themed McDonald’s location in Brooklyn is furnished with both props from the Loki show and authentic McDonald’s decor straight from the ’80s. On Wednesday Media and social media creators got to get an early preview of the throwback scenery which is up until Friday.

Fans of the famed golden arches can journey back a few decades straight into McDonald’s as it looked in 1982. Inspired by Marvel’s upcoming second season of Loki.

The latest McDonald’s campaign: As Featured In Meal, showcases a collection of fan-favorite menu items that have famously appeared across film, television, and music for decades, which also now includes crossing paths with the God of Mischief.

To celebrate, McDonald’s has transported a Brooklyn, New York McDonald’s back to 1982 as seen in the upcoming season. Running from Wednesday, August 30 through Friday, September 1, fans of Loki and Chicken McNuggets don’t need a TemPad to check out the event, which includes:

  • Try the As Featured In Meal and eat like your favorite characters and artists with one of three main menu items, plus co-starring sides, and experience 80s pricing on the As Featured In 10-Piece Chicken McNuggets and the As Featured In Big Mac Meals for a limited time
  • Take a step through a Time Variance Authority (TVA) timedoor to be transported back to a 1980s McDonald’s restaurant
  • See props used during filming of Marvel Studios’ Loki Season 2 – like Sylvie’s uniform, her nametag, the menu board, and much more
  • Check out the themed AR feature when you scan the Loki-branded Sweet ‘N Sour Sauce lid on Snapchat, with all-new animated videos available weekly throughout the promotion
Me and Whatpaigeisit –
We had a blast with the Polaroids !

For three days (Aug. 30-Sept 1), fans can visit the retro location, which is located at 6620 Bay Parkway in Brooklyn. In order to enter, customers walk through the series-inspired Time Variance Authority (TVA) timedoor. From there, they can see the space decked out in vintage McDonald’s ads.

From Polaroids to the most vintage touch of all – the bright yellow cushiony booths that are placed in the throwback spot. To add to the decorative charm and ambiance of the 80’s there are throwback order counters that include chunky cash registers and ’80s menu boards and posters.

McDonald’s employees also also got in on the fun as they donned 1982-inspired uniforms featuring Ronald McDonald-themed red stripes. There were also in- character actors donning TVA uniforms.

There are classic familiar faces like Grimace who also make an appearance as the restaurant features classic McDonaldland character murals.

There were also Props from Loki that also added to the location’s decor, including a vintage TV set and costumes. Attendees showed off their best Loki looks and accessories.
