Welcome to an exciting episode of My new podcast segment Tea w/ triple G where we will discuss hot takes, straight facts, unpopular opinions and more in depth discussions in the world of pop culture, film, TV & comic books, have important discussions , talk movie news and interviews.

I am honored to be joined by actor, activist and musician Perry Yung to talk about one of my favorite series of all time Warrior !! The hit series was recently picked up by Netflix with seasons 1-3 airing now.

A martial arts expert arrives from China in 19th-century San Francisco, where he joins a powerful crime family and confronts rival Chinatown gangs.

Starring:Andrew Koji, Olivia Cheng, Jason Tobin
Creators:Jonathan Tropper

The Martial Arts period drama based on the Teachings of Bruce Lee originally premiered on April 5, 2019, on Cinemax. It is based on an original concept and treatment by Bruce Lee, and is executive-produced by his daughter, Shannon Lee, and film director Justin Lin. Jonathan Tropper, known for the Cinemax original series Banshee, another favorite of mine is the showrunner.

Set during the Tong Wars in late 1870s San Francisco, the crime series follows Ah Sahm, a martial arts prodigy who emigrates from China in search of his sister, only to be sold to one of the most powerful tongs in Chinatown.

Perry stars as Father-Jun in Warrior, Mr Moua in The Harvest, Mr. Chin in Boogie, Ping Wu in The Knick. He’s also been in roles in John Wick 2, The Equalizer TV series, and more. He also has an upcoming sci-fi series 3 Body Problem coming soon to Netflix.

Perry has also made his directorial debut with a film Stop Asian Hate Love One Another.

He is also a multi-award wining Japanese shakuhachi flute craftsman and the first ever supported by both the American and Japanese governments.

The hit series is now on Netflix as die-hard fans are hoping for a 4th season.

One of my absolute favorite series is now on @netflix Seasons 1-3 REWATCH, Tell a friend to Watch and let’s show them how much we loved this series and much they deserved a 4th season !

Warrior’s excellent third season left fans hungering for more. The martial arts drama based on Bruce Lee’s writing successfully made the move from Cinemax to Max, let’s hope it can once again find a new audience in its new home.

The series featured a phenomenal cast, outstanding and brilliant fight choreography, extravagant costume design, a great soundtrack especially for fans of hip hop and fantastic storytelling! Covering such themes of race, identity, the American dream, beautiful culture and representation with an incredible cast.

If you have not already watched this series I highly recommend you check it out !!! Especially Fans of martial arts, Bruce Lee, and actual period dramas !!
