New Line Cinema-the studio that brought you “The Notebook”— and the unhinged creators of “Barbarian” cordially invite you to experience a new kind of love story…

From the studio that brought you The Notebook, and the creators of Barbarian comes the twisted and highly anticipated American horror film Companion starring Sophie Thatcher (Yellowjackets) and Jack Quaid (The Boys). The Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Suspense/Thriller follows a weekend getaway among friends that turns bloody and violent when a subservient android that’s built for human companionship goes haywire.
The perfect horror film to start the year off is written and directed by Drew Hancock in his first feature-length film serving as both writer and director. The film also comes from producers Zach Cregger (writer/director Barbarian) and Roy Lee (producer Barbarian).
Sophie Thatcher once again proves herself to be a notable scream queen starring alongside her on-screen lover Josh (Quaid). Lukas Gage, Megan Suri, Harvey Guillén and Rupert Friend also appear in supporting roles in the exciting thriller. Months ago the film released a cryptic teaser trailer sparking viewers curiosity and theories, then earlier this month the full-trailer officially released confirming some of those theories. *(I highly recommend going in blind and not watching the trailer to get the full experience).
The exciting futuristic horror thriller will keep you on the edge of your seat as it features zany surprises and plot twists, what makes the film even more crazy is the relevance to the frightening advancements of technology we are currently experiencing.

Companion is a clever, twisted sci-fi psychological thriller sprinkled with just the right amount of romance and dark satirical commentary.
Companion is an upcoming American horror film starring Sophie Thatcher and Jack Quaid that follows a weekend getaway among friends at a remote cabin, which unravels into chaos after a revelation that one of the guests is a companion robot.
“A companion robot is a robot created to create real or apparent companionship for human beings. [The idea of companionship with robots has already existed on science fictions of 1970s, like R2-D2]. Companion robots can perform a variety of tasks and they are produced in a specialized manner according to their purpose or target audience in order to increase convenience and end user satisfaction.”
“The advent of companion robots has faced public criticism and concern, particularly regarding the ethical dilemmas of dependency on these devices…Privacy and security issues have gained prominence as well, with companion robots like iPal capable of collecting and transmitting data, thus raising the risks of surveillance and data misuse.”
