Director Scott Derickson ( Sinister , The Exorcism of Emily Rose ) continues the nightmare with scenes darker, deadlier, and more terrifying than ever before, while Ethan Hawke ( First Reformed ) returns in his most disturbing role yet as the deranged serial killer The Grabber , alongside Mason Thames ( How to Tain Your Dragon franchise, Incoming ) in his first major film role as Finn. True evil transcends death, and the black phone rings again as The Grabber (Hawke) haunts Finn (Thames) from beyond the grave, threatening his sister Gwen (Madeline McGraw; Toy Story 4 , “Secrets of Sulphur Springs”). Tormented by horrific visions, the teenagers try to stop his psychological torture, only to uncover a disturbing secret when they confront a killer who has grown even more powerful in death.
