Here’s a list of what to look forward to in 2017!!



Release Date: March 3, 2017

*Status: Post-Production


The film will be the third solo feature and possibly last for Hugh Jackman in the X-Men film series.


*Logan is set in the future and may take some inspiration from the Old Man Logan story-line. Fans have been very excited since it was announced that the film will be Rated R after the blockbuster success of Deadpool. Boyd Holbrook has been confirmed as Donald Pierce, and Laura Kinney/ X-23 will be played by Dafne Keen.


(Wolverine 3) stars: Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Boyd Holbrook (Donald Pierce).


Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (MCU)

Release Date: May 5, 2017

*Status: Post-production/officially wrapped


Guardians of the Galaxy 2 picks up where Vol. 1 left off, with the team unraveling the secrets of Star-Lord’s true ancestry. Be on the look-out for the identity of his real father, who isn’t actually from Earth.


*Nathan Fillion has been confirmed to play Simon Williams. it was also confirmed that Kurt Russell is playing Star-Lord’s father, EgoSylvester Stallone will also be joining the cast.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 stars: Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Bradley Cooper (Rocket voice), Vin Diesel (Baby Groot voice), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Dave Bautista (Drax), Tommy Flanagan (Tullk), Michael Rooker (Yondu), Glenn Close (Nova Prime), Sean Gunn (Kraglin), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), and Chris Sullivan (Taserface), and Nathan Fillion (Simon Williams). 

John C Reilly (Corpsman Dey) and Benicio Del Toro (The Collector) will not be returning for Vol. 2.


Wonder Woman (WB)

Release Date: June 2, 2017

*Status: Post-production


The solo Wonder Woman film looks to be an origin story that will take Amazon Warrior-Princess; Diana Prince, from her home on Themyscira to discover the world, becoming the legendary super hero Wonder Woman.

*After crossing paths with American military pilot Steve Trevor, and learning about the ongoing events of World War 1, Diana leaves her home and discovers her true destiny

Wonder Woman stars: Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Robin Wright (General Antiope), Chris Pine (Steve Trevor), Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta), Lucy Davis (Etta Candy), Lisa Loven Kongsli (Melanippe); Unconfirmed roles: David Thewlis, Elena Anaya, Danny Huston, Ewen Bremner, and Saïd Taghmaoui.



Spider-Man: Homecoming (Marvel studios/SONY release)

Release Date: July 7, 2017

*Status: Post-production


What we do know is that it will be a coming of age story, and that Marvel has creative control. The announcement was made by SONY at CinemaCon, announcing “Homecoming” as the title of the upcoming Spidey saga.


*After his adventures with the Avengers, a young Peter Parker returns home embracing his new identity as a web slinging superhero when a new villain the Vulture emerges.

*After back and forth negotiations Michael Keaton has been confirmed as (Adrian Toomes/ The Vulture). Tony Revolori is (Flash Thompson), Laura Harrier (Liz Allan).

It was announced that Iron Man Robert Downey Jr. will have a role in the film. Now that we have Spider-Man in the MCU, it will be interesting to see who else may pop up in Homecoming. We got a first look at Tom Holland’s portrayal of Spidey in Captain America: Civil War.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle (FOX)

*Release Date: October 6, 2017

*Status: Post-production


After the financial and critical success of the 2015 film “Kingsman: The Secret Service”, a sequel was set into motion. In Kingsman: The Golden Circle we can expect to see Eggsy and Merlin head to the United States, where they’ll find their American counterparts.


*Pushed back from its original release date in July, it is now set to release in October.  Collin Firth (Harry Hart) has been confirmed to make a return for the sequel. “I can’t give too much away about in what capacity I’m back,” Firth told Collider. “A lot of people have speculated and a lot of people have come to the wrong conclusions about it. Check out these possible theories on the Hollywood Reporter: Ways Harry Hart can return after being shot.


For those not familiar with Kingsman:

Kingsman: The Secret Service is a spy film based on the comic book The Secret Service, created by Dave Gibbons and Mark Millar. The film trails the recruitment of potential secret agents that endure super intense training. Lead character Gary “Eggsy” Unwin (Taron Egerton) joins this secret spy organization, and takes on a mission to challenge a global threat by wealthy tyrant, Richmond Valentine (Samuel L. Jackson).

Kingsman: The Golden Circle stars: Taron Egerton (Eggsy), Channing Tatum (unconfirmed role), Elton John (unconfirmed), Julianne Moore (Poppy), Halle Berry (Ginger), Colin Firth (Harry Hart), Pedro Pascal (Jack Daniels), Sophie Cookson (Roxy), Edward Holcroft (Charlie Hesketh), and Mark Strong (Merlin).



Thor: Ragnarok (MCU)

Release Date: November 3, 2017

*Status: Unknown plot/ Post-production


Thor Ragnarok is a sequel to Thor, Thor: The Dark World and Avengers: Age of Ultron.

*Not much is known about the plot yet, but more castings have been confirmed for the film. Marvel has  confirmed that Cate Blanchett will be playing the movie’s main antagonist  Hela; the Asgardian goddess of death. Also joining the cast will be Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Benedict Cumberbatch will reprise his role as Dr. Stephen Strange, as well as Idris Elba as Heimdall and Anthony Hopkins as Odin.

For those not familiar with Ragnarok:



Ragnarok is a cyborg clone of Thor that has all the knowledge of power of the Asgardian God of Thunder. This includes super strength, godly stamina, superhuman reflexes, extensive combat skills, and immune to man diseases. Also has no sense of humanity.

Ragnarok stars: Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Jaimie Alexander (Lady Sif), Cate Blanchett (*Hela), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Lou Ferrigno (rumored Hulk voice), and Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie).



Justice League Part One (WB)

Release Date: November 17, 2017

*Status: Post-Production


To battle greater evil Earth’s ultimate heroes join forces to form the Justice League.

The seven original members consisted of Batman, the Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and the Martian Manhunter. However the team has rotated throughout the years consisting of different DC Universe heroes.

 *Batman VS Superman heroes (Batman/Wonder Woman/ and Superman); will be returning joined by the Flash, Cyborg, Green Lantern, and Aquaman. Willem Dafoe has been confirmed to play Nuidis Vulko. Also joining the cast will be Kiersey Clemons (Iris West), Jeremy Irons (Alfred Pennyworth), Diane Lane (Martha Kent), Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta) and Jesse Eisenberg will reprise his role as Lex Luthor.

Justice League Part One stars: Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Henry Cavill (Superman), Ben Affleck (Batman), Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Amber Heard (Mera), Ezra Miller (The Flash), Ray Fisher (Cyborg), and J.K. Simmons (Commissioner Gordon), and Willem Dafoe (*Nuidis Vulko).
